| Like everyone else, I am on a journey. My journey has brought me to Sacrmento, CA. The best label for my spiritual direction at this point is progressive Christianity, which means I refuse to leave my brain at the door, I don’t think that the Holy Spirit has stopped working in the world today and, on the positive side, I hold to a vision that sees a world where equity, wholeness and mutual respect are practiced under an overarching umbrella of unconditioned love.
On the practical side, I am the pastor of Pioneer Congregational UCC, Sacramento, CA, which is an ONA church in the United Church of Christ. ONA means “Open and Affirming” to everyone and anyone. The usuat definition of that includes a list of “regardless of” conditions, but I think that list should be open-ended. Like we like to say in the UCC, “don’t put a period where God has put a comma”. |
